Online therapy, also known as telehealth, teletherapy, virtual therapy, is therapy that is provided by a licensed professional through a HIPPA Compliant secure video-conferencing platform or through phone calls. Online therapy, like in-person, offers effective treatment but through the convenience of video and phone.

Sessions with me are typically are 45-53 minutes long.
Getting Started.

Set up your Client Portal

Make sure to have a quiet place and earbuds if needed.
Have a consistent and strong internet connection.

Therapy starts with an initial session that allows me to gather information about your needs and goals and allows me and you decide if we are a good fit.

ABSOLUTELY! You are about to embark on a journey that exposes your challenges and experiences and private thoughts. That can be a scary thing and it’s completely normal to be anxious and scared. My goal is to help you feel comfortable while going through this experience.

Shop around! This is an intimate experience and you need to feel comfortable with your therapist. If we don’t vibe ask me for some referrals and I will be happy to share.

I believe that consistency is key. Weekly sessions helps us to build a rapport, a strong foundation, and work on goals that are important to you.
We will always revisit frequency based on the progress you are making.

Everyone is different. You may be in therapy for a few months or several weeks based on needs, progress.

I offer a paid 10 minute consultation to help you decide if therapy with me is the best fit for you. You can ask any questions you need to in order for you to make the best decision for yourself.
When you want to move forward, I will activate your client portal and you will receive an email to gain access to your client portal to complete any paperwork and make any and all your appointments.
Your first session will help me get to know you better and your what your goals are for therapy. This is also your time to ask me any questions.
Don’t feel that you need to let it all out during the first session. This is still your opportunity to make a decision if we are a good fit.
Most people feel nervous during this session and that is competely normal.
Insurance and Costs

It’s up to you if you want to use your insurance. Insurance use does require us to diagnose in order to file a claim, so that diagnosis will always be attached to you.

I accept credit and debit card payments. You can use your HSA/FSA flex-spending accounts if they are issued by a major credit/debit card company. Payments are processed through a HIPAA Compliant system.
If you prefer to use Zelle, Paypal, or Cashapp, you understand that these are not HIPAA Compliant and are responsible for any issues that arise, although, I have never had an issue when a client wanted to use these methods of payment.
Treatment Options.

Yes all individual, group, and evaluation services are offered online. I do not offer in-person services.

I treat adults with anxiety, difficulty with transitions in their life, relationship, or job, challenges with setting boundaries, high conflict coparents and I offer support groups for moms, black women, coparents, black men, divorce, breakups, anxiety/boundary groups and groups for men and women.

Cancellations must be done 72 hours before the appointment in order to not get charged unless there was a legitimate emergency.

Yes. If you want me to share any information with anyone you will have to fill out a release of information form with the person(s) that you give me permission to speak with about your case.

My practice does not handle mental health emergencies or crisis.

Yes. All clients have access to their own personal client portal where you can complete your paperwork and book any appointments.
Immigration Evaluations FAQs

An immigration psychological evaluation is a detailed clinical assessment used in legal cases, such as asylum, hardship waivers, U visas, VAWA, and cancellation of removal. The evaluation records any psychological distress, trauma, or hardship that may impact your case.

The evaluation typically requires 1-2 clinical interviews and is completed within 14 business days unless expedited.

The cost is $1750. I am currently offering a $250 discount and payment plan option upon request. The balance must be paid before the report is released.

Yes! I collaborate closely with immigration attorneys to ensure evaluations meet legal requirements and support the client's case effectively.
Group Therapy FAQs

Support groups provide a space of support where people with similar challenges and experiences meet regularly to share, learn, and build skills.
Each group is facilitated by me. I always strive to create a structured, productive, supportive, and safe space where you feel comfortable sharing and being vulnerable so that you can create the change you need in your life.

My support groups focus on:

High-conflict co-parenting strategies
Anxiety, anger, and isolation that moms may feel when navigating parenting, relationships, and their own identity.
Specific cultural and societal challenges for black men and women
Breakup support for those that are struggling with moving on from a breakup

Multi-generational womens’ support group to discuss challenges and learn from each other
Men’s support group that allows men to connect while discussing emotional health and needs

All groups are $95 per session. These sessions are out of pocket as they are support groups and a diagnosis is not being sought after.
You can use your HSA/FSA benefits to cover costs, if that is available to you.
